New Low Power, Miniature Altimeter Pressure Sensor for High Volume Applications Authored by Servoflo

LEXINGTON, MA--(Marketwire - June 9, 2009) - Servoflo Corporation of Lexington, Massachusetts is pleased to introduce the MS5561C Micro-Altimeter from Intersema of Switzerland. This integrated pressure sensor offers a measurement range from 10 to 1100 millibar with a 0.1 mbar resolution.

With an ultra small size of 4.75 mm X 4.25 mm and only 1.6 mm thick, the MS5561C includes a calibrated temperature and pressure sensor for 2nd order compensation, and has a 3-wire serial interface for communication. The MS5561C is a low power device, utilizing an input of 2.2VDC to 3.6VDC and a standby current of 0.1 micro Amps.

The output is a 16 bit data word from a pressure and temperature dependent voltage. Automatic power down on/off switching is included.

Typical high volume applications for the MS5561C include mobile phones, GPS receivers, altimeter applications, personal navigation devices and digital cameras with altimeter function. Pricing is available upon request.
