New Media BC to Present the 2007 PopVox™ Awards for Excellence in Digital Media

Call for Entries in Seven Digital Media Categories; Awards to be Presented at 2007 Vancouver International Digital Festival September 22nd

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Aug. 16, 2007) - New Media BC announced today it will produce and present the first annual PopVox™ Awards honoring excellence in digital media. Entries can be submitted via the awards website, www.popvoxawards.com, through September 7th. Winners will be determined via online votes through the site, which can be submitted from September 8th - 17th. Winners will receive their honors on September 22nd at the opening gala celebration for the Vancouver International Digital Festival. PopVox™ Awards categories will include Best Web 2.0 Application, Best Mobile Game, Best Digital Animation Short, Best Digital VFX, Best Game, Best Digital Music Score, and Homegrown: The Best of British Columbia (BC).

As an audience-driven awards event, the PopVox™ Awards will be a key annual component of the Vancouver International Digital Festival hosted by New Media BC. This year's festival will run September 22nd through 25th, and will be attended by visionaries from the areas of digital entertainment, games, Web 2.0, interactive design, animation, and mobile applications.
