TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 20, 2009) -

The Loose Moose Tap & Grill(R), one of Toronto's favourite rock 'n' roll bars located on Front Street near the Rogers Centre and the Air Canada Centre, recently unveiled a delicious new menu and cocktail list to mark its 20th anniversary. In addition, a new executive chef, Cary Bynoe, has taken the helm in the kitchen and a new general manager, Robert (Bobby) Smith, now oversees the operation of the two-level, 400-seat, downtown Toronto restaurant and bar.

According to Misty Beazley, Vice President of the Signature Group of Canadian restaurant company SIR Corp., the innovative, entirely new menu includes such items as Truck-Stop Charcuterie, Chorizo Sausage Nachos and Tabasco-Stained Chicken. She says the new chef and menu come at the ideal time.

"We really wanted to shake things up on the menu at The Loose Moose and the best way to do that is with new staff that bring energy, experience and enthusiasm," Beazley says. "Cary and Bobby have those qualities, and I'm convinced that this new menu is going to show Torontonians that The Loose Moose is the place for Toronto partiers, concert-goers and sports fans who want a fun dining experience that is casual and delicious."

Already, concert-goers have embraced the new menu - literally. Thousands of fans that attended recent major concerts for U2 and KISS (September 16/17 and October 2 respectively) were treated to special Loose Moose menu covers designed to feature an image of the bands. Adding to the concert night experience, The Loose Moose played the bands' music and videos throughout the restaurant, and hosted a KISS concert costume contest with local radio station Y108.

According to Beazley, several guests took home copies of the commemorative menu.

"We had a lot of menus disappear on those nights," Beazley quips. "It is quite a compliment to have music fans see our menu as memorabilia for their concert experience, and we plan to do it again too, when Metallica rolls in Oct. 26 and 27, and when other major acts perform at neighbouring venues like Air Canada Centre and Rogers Centre. We're an important part of a concert or sporting event for our guests and we want to help them maximize that good time."

In addition to the launch of the new menu, the cocktail list has been updated with rock 'n' roll inspired, hand-crafted drinks such as a Red Hot Chili Peppers Caesar, with smashed jalapeno, lime vodka, Strongbow and Anaheim chili; the Pink Floyd cocktail with Smirnoff strawberry vodka, raspberry and peach; and a Bob Marley, with white, dark and spiced rum and ginger beer. New shooters include the Monkey Wrench, with Tequila, banana and coconut and Miss American Pie, with butterscotch, apple and Bourbon.

The Loose Moose guests can now enjoy the following new dishes:

- Truck-stop charcuterie including hot rods, pork rinds, beef jerky, Kielbasa, Havarti cheese, wheat crackers, and pickled eggs, onions & peppers

- Chorizo sausage nachos with three cheeses, banana peppers, pineapple, cilantro and scallions

- BLT: House-smoked bacon, lettuce and tomato on a massive, fresh ACE Bakery Ciabatta bun

- House-made dry-smoked rib fingers (sold by the pound)

- Mac, Chili and Cheese: house-made chili topped with macaroni & mild cheddar; served with Jalapeno corn bread

- Hot Lox Salad: grilled hot, house-smoked salmon with spinach, red onion and crispy capers

- Crispy, Panko-crusted macaroni and cheese sticks with chipotle ketchup

- Salt and vinegar chip-encrusted fish & chips with dill tartar

- Tabasco-stained rotisserie chicken with Asian slaw

The Loose Moose is still partying, two decades after launching onto the downtown Toronto bar scene. With seating for more than 400 guests on two levels, it is the place to meet and make new friends, listen to live music, or watch NFL and UFC games. A rock 'n' roll good time is assured thanks to the bar's glass-encased motorcycle and a play list of contemporary and classic rock. With its close proximity to the Air Canada Centre and Rogers Centre, The Loose Moose is the ideal spot to enjoy a burger and a pint before or after the game or concert. Walking distance from the Bay Street financial district, it is also a popular meeting place for lunch or after-work drinks. The Loose Moose is located at 146 Front Street West, near York Street. The restaurant and bar are open Monday to Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.; Thursday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.; and Sunday 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. Reservations aren't required but are accepted.
