New Mitsubishi SUV Offers Gentex Auto-Dimming Mirror

ZEELAND, MI -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 31, 2007 -- Gentex Corporation (NASDAQ: GNTX), the leading supplier of automatic-dimming rearview mirrors to the worldwide automotive industry, has announced that it is supplying auto-dimming mirrors for the 2007 Mitsubishi Pajero.

The Pajero is Mitsubishi's new large SUV, and offers a Gentex interior auto-dimming mirror on its high- and mid-grade trim levels. Gentex auto-dimming mirrors automatically darken to reduce glare from the headlamps of vehicles approaching from the rear. The brighter the glare, the darker the mirrors become, making nighttime driving safer.

The Pajero becomes the first large-sized standard SUV equipped with electrochromic, auto-dimming mirrors to be sold in Japan. The vehicle will also be sold in Europe, Australia, India and other select markets.

"The Pajero is one of the most popular vehicles in the Mitsubishi line-up and one of the leading SUVs in the Japanese domestic market," said Enoch Jen, Gentex senior vice president. "This is an important program because it increases our auto-dimming mirror penetration in the Japanese market."

Founded in 1974, Gentex Corporation (NASDAQ: GNTX) is an international company that provides high-quality products to the worldwide automotive industry and North American fire protection market. Based in Zeeland, Michigan, the Company develops, manufactures and markets interior and exterior automatic-dimming automotive rearview mirrors that utilize proprietary electrochromic technology to dim in proportion to the amount of headlight glare from trailing vehicle headlamps. Many of the mirrors are sold with advanced electronic features, and approximately 95 percent of the Company's revenues are derived from the sales of auto-dimming mirrors to nearly every major automaker in the world.
