New NCSBN Board Positions Appointed

CHICAGO, IL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- December 18, 2006 -- The National Council of State Boards of
Nursing, Inc. (NCSBN®) (www.ncsbn.org) Board of Directors made several
recent appointments to fill the vacancy on the NCSBN Board left by the
resignation of Rolf T. Olson, JD, of Oregon, Area I director.
Kathy Malloch, PhD, MBA, RN, FAAN, who held the director-at-large position,
was appointed to fulfill Olson's term. A board member of the Arizona Board
of Nursing since 1999, Malloch is in her third term as president and is the
current chair of the Education Committee. She was the past chair of the
Scope of Practice Committee. She has also served on several NCSBN
committees including a term as chair of the Practice Breakdown Advisory
Panel and as a member of the Governance and Leadership Task Force.
Cheryl Lynn Koski, MN, RN, CS, executive director of the Wyoming State
Board of Nursing, was appointed to fill the director-at-large position left
vacant by Malloch. Koski has served as executive director of the Wyoming
Board of Nursing since 1999. Over the past several years she has chaired
two NCSBN committees: the Resolutions Committee and the Practice Regulation
& Education Subcommittee on Delegation and Assistive Personnel. Most
recently, she served on the NCSBN Examinations Committee.
NCSBN will elect four area directors, two directors-at-large and two
members to serve on the Nominating Committee in 2007 at NCSBN's annual
Delegate Assembly in Chicago, Illinois.
