It differs from the general negotiating training because women negotiate differently than men and sometimes tend to be less comfortable negotiating. Even very successful women who are skilled negotiators often find it difficult to negotiate for themselves. Moreover, there are different dynamics when a man negotiates with another man than when a woman negotiates with a man or a woman negotiates with another woman. Often the same behavior that is effective for a man is viewed negatively when a woman engages in it. Women also tend to bring different strengths to the negotiating table and most negotiating programs do not focus on helping women maximize those strengths. Attendees will have the opportunity to observe, to participate, to ask questions, and to learn from real-life examples.
