New Nordson® UV Curing Technologies at RadTech 2008

Innovative Nordson® UV Curing Technologies Offer Greater Flexibility and Operating Efficiency for Wide Range of Manufacturing Applications

WESTLAKE, OH--(Marketwire - May 2, 2008) - Several innovative UV curing technologies will be introduced by Nordson Corporation (NASDAQ: NDSN), at RadTech UV/EB 2008, Booth 100, May 5 to 7, 2008, at McCormick Place Lakeside in Chicago.

Both low-power and high-power versions of the robust Nordson® CoolWave® 2 410 and 610 systems offer an optional internal blower that gives users the ultimate in system flexibility to meet any installation requirement. It also simplifies installation and provides properly balanced cooling to ensure optimal spectral output and maximum bulb life. The high-power CoolWave 2 610 system delivers 600 Watts/inch (240 Watts/cm); the low-power CoolWave 2 system delivers up to 420 Watts/inch (165 Watts/cm).

CoolWave 2 systems use dichroic-coated temperature stable glass reflectors for cooler operation. No internal gasketing virtually eliminates the possibility of arcing. The system provides faster identification of cause of system faults, and greater application flexibility with a range of precisely focused and flood reflector geometries for different manufacturing applications including automotive, electronics, building products, life science/medical device, wire and cable, optical media (CDs and DVDs), and pipe and tube.

The Nordson® MonoCure™ UV System provides an intense, focused band of UV energy for superior performance on the most challenging heat-sensitive substrates. Combining a unique primary and secondary UV reflector design, this compact lamp head delivers superior performance, especially in most wide-width industrial applications.

Other features of the MonoCure system include dichroic reflectors, water-cooled lamp head and filtering tube, shutter-less design, no ozone produced, and elimination of cooling air.

The free-standing MiniCure™ UV conveyor system, an industry standard worldwide, cures lacquers, inks and surface coatings using high intensity ultraviolet light. Compact and freestanding, it offers in-line capability, yet is ideal for lab use in the formulation of UV-cured coatings, or for conveyor wet proofs before production runs. The MiniCure UV conveyor has been used for a wide variety of substrates such as plastic, paper, wood, glass, metal and many other specialist applications.

Nordson Corporation is one of the world's leading producers of precision dispensing equipment that applies adhesives, sealants and coatings to a broad range of consumer and industrial products during manufacturing operations. The company also manufactures equipment used in the testing and inspection of electronic components as well as technology-based systems used for curing and surface treatment processes. Headquartered in Westlake, Ohio, Nordson has more than 4,100 employees worldwide, and direct operations and sales support offices in 30 countries.
