BEVERLY, MA--(Marketwired - Jul 22, 2014) - Responding to the needs of educators nationwide, Landmark School Outreach Program announces the launch of a new online course for general and special educators:

The primary audience for the course is K - 12 teachers of traditional learners and students who struggle with reading, writing, and expressive language skills. This course is the first in a series developed and hosted through the Landmark Outreach Online Program (LOOP).

Language-Based Learning Disabilities: Strategies for Success is led by experienced Landmark educators and provides teachers with an understanding of the learning needs of students with dyslexia and other language-based learning disabilities. The course will teach educators strategies to empower their students to better manage the volume and complexity of language in the classroom. The graduate level course will be available in a 12-hour as well a 3-credit format. A blended offering (in person and online) is available for school or district groups.

Rachel Jean-Marie, a Boston Public School teacher says of her experience taking the course, "The success of one of my students is in direct connection to what I learned through this course...He was on track to fail my class again. I used what I learned in the course and he successfully completed all the assignments and as he started to improve in the completion of his work, his attendance also started to improve. Thank you for the opportunity to take this course."

Dan Ahearn, Director of Landmark School Outreach Program says of the new online programming, "This online course represents our commitment to significantly expand our proven methodologies to educators everywhere. The Landmark School Outreach Program strives to meet the increasing demands placed on our teachers to meet the needs of all students."
