New Online Video Series Gives Viewers a "Behind the Scenes" Look at the Making of a 2010 Rose Parade Float

Facebook and YouTube Video Series Profiles the People, Personalities and Float Decorating Activities as Rain Bird Goes for Its 9th Rose Parade Float Sweepstakes Trophy

AZUSA, CA--(Marketwire - December 29, 2009) - Providing Rose Parade viewers with an inside look at the people, personalities and activities behind the making of the 121st Rose Parade, 14-time parade participant Rain Bird is giving Rose Parade fans a 'real time' behind-the-scenes look at the making of its 2010 Rose Parade float entry, Mountaintop Majesty, through a series of short online documentary-style videos. The regular series, available on Rain Bird's YouTube and Facebook fan pages, chronicles the seldom seen side of the Rose Parade by focusing on the people, personalities and activities that make Rose Parade Decorators' Week an experience like none other.

"Most viewers only get to see the spectacle of floats on January 1st, but the parade itself is the culmination of all the long days and nights spent by volunteers transforming a barren structure of steel into a work of art just a few days before the parade," said Rain Bird's Director of Corporate Marketing, Dave Johnson. "It is such an amazing process that involves the coming together of so many different people and personalities. We want to show viewers what it takes to make the New Year's Day parade a magnificent tradition through the eyes of a 14-year participant."

The exclusive video series provides viewers with daily glimpses of the behind-the-scenes action of Rose Parade float decorating as thousands of volunteers feverishly race to finish each float in time for the 121st Tournament of Roses Parade on January 1, 2010. Capturing all the excitement of Rose Parade preparation -- from the placing of the first flowers to the start of the parade -- the four-part series brings viewers up close and personal with the story behind the world's most spectacular parade and features onsite interviews with float builders, volunteer decorators, float drivers, designers, the 2010 Tournament of Roses Queen and Court, as well as animal expert Jack Hanna as he prepares to ride on Rain Bird's float for the 12th consecutive year.
