New Parrot MINIKIT Slim Changes the Face of Portable Hands-Free Car Kits

Parrot's World-Leading Technology Now Comes in an Ultra-Compact, Stylish Speakerphone

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - September 18, 2008) - Parrot, the world leader in hands-free car kits, has announced its next-generation hands-free speakerphone -- the new super-slim Parrot MINIKIT Slim. The sleek Bluetooth® car kit uses Parrot's latest voice recognition and DSP technology which means it has user-independent voice recognition and text-to-speech capability. As a result, once you have paired your phone, the phonebook automatically loads and you can place calls by simply saying "Call George, cell phone" and it will find and dial the number without any prior training or voice-tags.

Weighing only 3 ounces, the battery-powered MINIKIT Slim can be discreetly clipped to a car's sun visor or placed on a desk for up to 10 hours of talk time. It can be recharged in only four hours, and has 20 days of standby time.

"Following the market trend toward smaller and lighter products that are easier to use, our engineers went back to the drawing board to develop a sleeker, more stylist version of our original Parrot MINIKIT, integrating innovative features such as immediate voice-activated access to the telephone's commands and phonebook," says David Wenning, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing. "We think we've hit a home run with this one, and it's available in both a matte black surface and in a limited-edition floral print design for greater appeal."

The Parrot MINIKIT Slim synchronizes automatically with up to 5 cell phones and has a total contact capacity of 2,500 names with 1,000 names per phone. The user-independent voice recognition eliminates the need to create "voice tags" and greatly simplifies use.

Parrot has combined its audio expertise with flat panel speaker technology developed by NXT*. Replacing the conventional loudspeaker used with this type of device with a flat, vibrating panel, sound is transmitted more clearly and evenly, resulting in outstanding audio quality.

This intuitive hands-free kit also comes with Bluetooth® v2.0 technology and is compatible with virtually every Bluetooth® portable phone on the market.

The Parrot MINIKIT Slim will be available at $99.99 in time for the holidays. For further information, visit www.parrot.com/usa.
