New Phocuswright Research Finds U.S. Travel Market Hits Record Highs

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Aug 27, 2015) - Travelers from the U.S. are finally throwing off the shackles of recession and recovery to travel more, travel farther, and take longer trips, according to new research from travel industry research authority Phocuswright. While some are still choosing to cut travel out of their budgets, many younger travelers are spending their money on wanderlust.

Phocuswright's U.S. Consumer Travel Report Seventh Edition provides in-depth analysis into consumer leisure travel behavior, booking trends and mobile and online features.

"U.S. leisure travelers are spending with pre-recession confidence again. More adults are getting out of the house and booking hotels and flights," said Marcello Gasdia, director, consumer research, Phocuswright. "Big family trips are back in numbers and more of them continue to put passports to good use. The whole picture looks very promising for the U.S. travel industry in 2016."
