New President and Council Take APEGBC into 92nd Year

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 22, 2010) - The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (APEGBC) has elected a new President and Council for the 2010/2011 term. The election results are as follows:

Elected candidates will be formally inducted at the Association's 91st Annual General Meeting in Whistler, B.C. on Saturday Oct. 23, 2010. The election process, as prescribed by the Engineers and Geoscientists Act, and work of APEGBC's Council allows the professions of engineering and geoscience to enjoy the privilege of self-regulation.

Founded in 1920, APEGBC is the regulatory and licensing body for the professions of engineering and geoscience. With over 26,000 members, APEGBC is one of the largest professional associations in BC and maintains high academic, experience and professional practice standards. Biography of Frank Denton, P.Eng. - President of APEGBC

Frank Denton, P.Eng., is a Professional Engineer with over 34 years of experience. Until his recent retirement, he was the senior of three vice-presidents for McElhanney Consulting, a 350 person, civil engineering and survey/mapping company. He remains active with McElhanney Consulting, on a part-time basis, as a director. In addition to his engineering background, Mr. Denton brings knowledge and skills in accounting, commercial and contract law, project management and the real estate development business.

Mr. Denton will be formally inducted as President of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (APEGBC) on Saturday Oct. 23, 2010 at the Association's 91st Annual General Meeting. Mr. Denton's previous positions with APEGBC include: Vice President of APEGBC's Council for the 2009/2010 term, Councillor for four years, chair of Sustainability Committee, and member of Continuing Professional Development Committee.

Mr. Denton received his degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Liverpool in 1966.
