New Real Time Cases Multimedia Platform Allows Professors to Link Students With Real Companies to Solve Real Business Challenges

Interactive Platform Introduces Students to Problems Facing Companies Today and Executives to Enthusiastic Students Who Offer Insight and Propose Solutions

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - August 07, 2015) - Real Time Cases (RTC), an early stage education technology company, launched an interactive learning platform, which provides professors with access to businesses that challenge students to think about and offer viable solutions to real-time business issues, today at the 75th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management. RTC keeps students excited about their coursework, creates greater teaching opportunities with real and engaging content for professors, and gives business executives access to students who can help them tap into how their future workforce and customers think and act.

Jake Schaufeld, chief executive officer of RTC, and his co-founders Andrew Pohle, chief operating officer, and Jordan Levy, president, are recent college graduates who developed, created content for, gathered feedback on, and refined the RTC platform (www.realtimecases.com). Now live and active for fall 2015, RTC offers more than 100 business cases from companies of all sizes, including CustomInk, ShopKeep, WeddingWire, Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza, ThinkFun, and Noodle. Professors at approximately 20 American colleges and universities have already signed up to engage with RTC beginning this August.

"Real Time Cases is an exceptional student engagement platform, which I have used in my classes," said Lehigh University Associate Professor of Marketing James Maskulka. "The novel format of text material interspersed with video commentary and specific, content-rich questions from the RTC team are a highly effective pedagogy. I have found the platform to be uniquely effective in generating and maintaining student interest in my classes."

"As recent graduates, we understand how hard it can be to sit through business classes that require students to create solutions for business problems that aren't real or are decades old," said Schaufeld. "We felt there was a better way for educators to bridge the gap between the professional work environment and higher education through experiential learning."

Professors at colleges and universities that engage with RTC gain full access to its growing library of cases, tools, and supplemental material. The covered disciplines include Business Administration, Management/Leadership, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Public Relations, Human Resources, Logistics, Risk, Information Technology, and Ethics/Corporate Social Responsibility.

For companies, RTC allows easy and direct access to content management through a separate dashboard with an integrated webcam feature so executives may provide updates and interact with students during a semester.

"Unlike traditional case studies that tend to look at historical situations, our cases address current issues at real companies," says Schaufeld. "The objective is to simulate what it's like to work on real assignments as a young business professional while still in school."

Students gain access to real world scenarios to better prepare them for their post-graduate careers, yet RTC is significantly less per case than most textbooks and other supplemental materials. As an added benefit, RTC's platform and content can be used as a networking and recruitment tool for students and participating companies, according to Schaufeld.
