New Research From Randstad Sourceright and Everest Group Highlights Growing Demand for Multi-Country RPO

An Overview of Findings to Be Presented in July 18th Webinar

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - Jul 12, 2012) - Randstad Sourceright, a global talent leader, today announced findings of its recent research conducted in conjunction with Everest Group, a leading global consulting and research firm, on the prevalent service delivery models of Multi-country Recruitment Process Outsourcing (MCRPO) and their business impact on global recruitment processes. The in-depth study, titled "Multi-Country RPO: Service Delivery Model and Best Practices," discovered that although multinational companies are increasingly adopting MCRPO, whereby they outsource recruitment services for two or more countries to a single provider, market penetration remains low while demand continues to grow.

"The research reveals the enormous potential that MCRPO provides for meeting the talent needs of global companies," said Rebecca Callahan, President, Recruitment Process Outsourcing for Randstad Sourceright. "As a global RPO leader, Randstad Sourceright understands the complexity of the MCRPO market and the factors driving successful solutions. We're pleased to share the results of this study, reflecting the insights that we believe are essential to successful talent acquisition in a global environment."

The research included a multi-stage process that involved recruiting a representative sample, collecting in-depth information, understanding the buyer's perspective and identifying best practices in this growing market. Of 11,000 multinational corporations considered in the study, 3,300-4,400 were identified as likely candidates for MCRPO. Of this portion, a mere four to five percent have adopted MCRPO solutions, leaving 95-96 percent portion of unrealized potential. These findings suggest significant growth opportunities for providers of MCRPO solutions.

Despite the growing demand for MCRPO and the largely untapped market, companies that have already adopted MCRPO have reported mixed levels of satisfaction, signifying room for improvement in currently available offerings. Leveraging this key insight, Randstad Sourceright has much to gain as it continues to develop best practices and expand its MCRPO service offerings to companies seeking new solutions to their global recruitment strategies.

Other key findings from the research include:

  • A major factor determining buyer satisfaction involves the centralization and decentralization of certain processes, with high-touch activities being most decentralized and back-office processes generally centralized
  • Although output-based pricing is most commonly used, the pricing model has minimal effect on overall satisfaction levels
  • Well defined metrics form the basis for clearly communicating the desired outcome and assessing the provider's performance
  • A formalized governance structure is essential for success in MCRPO, providing a structured mechanism to solve issues and helping to build trust between the buyer and service provider
  • As most buyers keep the technology decision separate from the MCRPO decision, the choice of technology model has limited impact on the outcome
  • While price is among the most commonly used criteria for considering service providers, experience and country-specific expertise are given higher priority when choosing a provider
