New Road Safety Website This Thanksgiving

NEW YORK, NEW YORK--(Marketwire - Nov. 22, 2011) - A web mapping service ( has been launched today showing every one of the 369,677 road traffic fatalities that have occurred as a result of Road Traffic Accidents across the USA over the nine ear period from 1 Jan 2001 to 31 Dec 2009.

The free service produced by transport information specialists ITO World, allows users to zoom in to specific highways to see locations for every fatality colour coded by transport mode (vehicle occupant, motorcyclist, cyclists or pedestrian) and also details the victim's age, gender and the year the collision took place.

Last week ITO published similar mapping showing collisions on Great Britain's roads which was used by tens of thousands of people viewing millions of map tiles within the first 24 hours.

Peter Miller, chief executive of ITO World, which has published the site to coincide with Thanksgiving, says: "We hope that Road Casualties USA will alert people to the sheer scale of the trauma caused by road traffic accidents in the USA and elsewhere."
