New Rob Thomas Album to Be DualDisc Exclusive

Two-Night Leno Stand Set; VH1 Special on Tap; Club Tour Kicks Off April 15th

NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 4, 2005 -- The forthcoming debut solo album from Melisma/Atlantic recording artist Rob Thomas, "...SOMETHING TO BE," will be available exclusively in the new DualDisc format. Due in stores on April 19th, the eagerly awaited release will feature the full album on the CD side and over 20 minutes of exclusive video material on the DVD side, which will also include all 12 songs in 5.1 multichannel surround sound. The DVD content will feature an "In Session" behind the scenes documentary -- including footage of recording and songwriting sessions for the album -- plus a photo gallery, lyrics, and more.

Thomas has an extensive slate of activities on tap to herald the release of "...SOMETHING TO BE." He will make a very rare two-night stand on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" -- performing live on the show on both Monday, April 18th and Tuesday, April 19th. He will also appear on "The Ellen Degeneres Show" on Monday, April 25th.

On April 11th, Thomas will be among the stars performing at the VH1 Save The Music benefit concert at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. The show -- which also features Alicia Keys, Rod Stewart, Joss Stone, John Legend, Mariah Carey, and Donna Summer -- will premiere on VH1 on Sunday, April 17th.

The video clip for "Lonely No More," the first single from "...SOMETHING TO BE," is currently in XXL rotation on VH1 and has been added to MTV. The video made its world premiere last week on VH1 and had its online premiere on the homepages of both MTV.com and VH1.com. The clip will be upped to Gung Ho rotation (50+ spins per week) on VH1 for two consecutive weeks beginning April 18th. The entire "...SOMETHING TO BE" album can be heard exclusively via VH1.com's "Hear Music First" during the week leading up to its in-store date, while Thomas will also be featured on "Live @ VH1.com" throughout April.

In the online world, Thomas has been selected as Yahoo! Music's April Artist of the Month, which will include a performance for "Live @ Launch." The "Lonely No More" single was premiered online via AOL's First Listen program, and Thomas will be performing for Sessions @ AOL. On the wireless front, he has been selected as Sprint's April Artist of the Month.

"Lonely No More" has proved to be an immediate smash at pop radio across the country. The track was far and away the #1 most-added track at multiple formats and is only the second track in the history of the Adult Top 40 chart to gain more than 1,000 plays in a single week. The single ranks in the #1 spot in Canada and the #2 spot in the U.S. this week at Adult Top 40/Hot AC, and is #13 at CHR/Pop.

In other radio-related news, Thomas will be one of the first artists featured on Clear Channel's recently announced "Stripped" online concert series. The program will be streamed via individual local Clear Channel radio station web sites. The "Stripped" performances will take place in an intimate, studio setting. In addition, Thomas is being featured in a special Infinity Broadcasting "Street Date Live" promotional campaign.

Coinciding with the release of "...SOMETHING TO BE," Thomas will embark on his first-ever solo concert tour. Kicking off on April 15th in San Francisco, the special 11-city cross-country itinerary will mark Thomas's first club tour since matchbox twenty's first national trek eight years ago.
