New Super Portal empowers telecom entrepreneurs

Innovative telecommunications tool will empower telecom resellers and entrepreneurs to "Connect Canada" from coast to coast in all 2998 telephone exchange rate centers

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Aug. 20, 2015) - Vancouver-based TeliPhone Navigata-Westel Communications Inc. ('TNW') has today launched Unity Super Portal, the first full service telecom provisioning and management portal that empowers Canadian carriers, resellers and entrepreneurs to bring affordable telecommunications services coast to coast.

The Super Portal gives real-time information on the service availability for DID's, SIP trunking, Internet, IPTV, mobile services, residential and business phone lines, on one of the country's most extensive networks. The portal is also used for the provisioning and management of advanced voice, data and cloud/colocation services.

TNW will expand its voice network to include all of Canada's 2998 telephone exchange centers, covering every region in the country by December 2016. The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunication Commission (CRTC) has been notified of TNW's expansion and this includes areas not currently available for other types of voice service in small telecom independent territories where TNW will deploy innovative interconnection methods.

Jack Santeramo, TNW VP Carrier Services, says: "The Super Portal is designed not only for existing telecommunication carriers, resellers and agents, but also entrepreneurs looking to bring new services to their region. The portal provides all the tools and information an entrepreneur would need to create their own business and offer Canada-wide telco services to customers.

"The Super Portal has been in beta testing with our existing wholesale customers and prospects and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. It's the industry's leading wholesale portal with unprecedented functionality designed to give our wholesalers, carriers and resellers alike, the tools they need to effortlessly run their business. Unity gives our wholesale customers the operational control they've been asking for to build their business via the most powerful product set the Canadian telecom industry has ever seen."

The Unity Super Portal has a number of useful features.

  • Service availability: Provides instant information on what type of service and speed is available based on the end users postal code
  • DIDs: Offers a feature set to order and manage DIDs, as well as real-time local number portability through one-click LNP activation; our wholesalers control the day and time of their ports, an industry first and exclusive.
  • Management: Orders can be submitted anytime, and the account set-up provides users with an effective means to process and manage orders

The Unity Super Portal launch comes at a time when TNW is striving to improve the affordability of telecommunications in Canada through its wholesale partners and entrepreneurs. Yesterday, TNW launched Canada OneNET, an initiative that gives Canadian telecom users an annual cash back rebate for using telco services on the same network such as Internet, IPTV, VoIP phone lines and mobile services. Network savings are shared with users.

Recently, TNW also announced it will become a mobile operator in October, offering wireless communication service at $10 a month. The service is currently in beta testing.
