New Taxpayer Advocacy Group Celebrates Launch With Free Tax Information Session, Tuesday April 26, 2011

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 20, 2011) - Taxpayers across the country can sleep a little easier at night after the launch of a new national advocacy group that vows to support taxpayers in understanding and asserting their rights in our tax system. Taxpayers Advocate Inc. is an information and referral service whose purpose is to bring transparency and accountability to this complicated area of law and to make it easier for all taxpayers to communicate with the Canada Revenue Agency.

To celebrate the launch of their new website:, Taxpayers Advocate Inc. is teaming up with local tax lawyers to provide a free personal tax advice and information session on Tuesday April 26, 2011, between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. EST. As the April 30 tax filing deadline approaches, this event will give taxpayers the opportunity to ask questions and to learn tips and tricks for maximizing tax credits and deductions. Taxpayers can participate online or in person at the new Centre for Social Innovation location at 720 Bathurst Street in downtown Toronto.

"This event is about increasing the accessibility of tax advice for anyone who needs some help in understanding their filing obligations," said Tax Lawyer Natalie Worsfold, owner of and a founding member of Taxpayers Advocate. "Taxpayers should not be put at a disadvantage just because they don't have limitless resources to spend on getting help with their tax returns."

This is the first of many events from Taxpayers Advocate Inc. and upcoming seminar topics include Payroll Deductions and The Tax Benefits of Incorporation. We have also launched a project to help taxpayers who are dealing with Disallowed Charitable Donations:
