New Unemployment Figures Prove It's Just Not Working: Let Freedom Ring Ads Show Truth About Unemployment

PHILADELPHIA, PA--(Marketwire - Jun 1, 2012) - Today's unemployment claims rose significantly, with an increase of 10,000 Americans filing for unemployment benefits. When approximately three million missing workers too discouraged to seek work are counted, the nation's actual unemployment is 14.8 percent.

To highlight the three million workers missing from the current economy, Let Freedom Ring is promoting its new advertisement about "Missing Workers," which is now running on radio stations in Philadelphia after a successful television run in test markets helped lower President Obama's approval rating by a total of 13 points.

"This administration continues to tout success at making strides to improve the economy and save or create jobs, but this is simply not true," said Colin Hanna, President of Let Freedom Ring. "Our new ad not only tells the truth about the President's record on jobs and the economy, but has also been proven to reduce the President's approval rating. Our goal is to bring this truth to as many Americans as possible before the November election so that people understand clearly what a vote for President Obama will mean for the next four years."

The national polling company, GEB International, performed a series of surveys in Johnstown, Pa., Youngstown, Ohio and the control market of Pittsburgh, Pa. that found a nine-day advertising campaign run jointly by Let Freedom Ring and Independent Women's Voice that included the "Missing Workers" advertisement lowered President Obama's approval rating six points in Youngstown and eight points in Johnstown, while his approval rating increased six points in the control market of Pittsburgh where "Missing Workers" ads did not appear.

The organization was formed to counter the attacks of anti-conservative groups on patriotic candidates as well as attacks on the important issues of our day, including family, marriage, the economy, energy, abortion, health care and foreign policy, to name a few. Let Freedom Ring also works to keep constituents and the media informed about what our founding fathers' intentions were and how history shapes laws and our culture today.
