New Visual Studio .NET Communication Class Libraries From CimQuest INGEAR Enable Easy, Runtime Free Connectivity to MODBUS Controllers and Instruments

PHOENIXVILLE, PA--(Marketwire - March 6, 2008) - CimQuest INGEAR, a leading publisher of runtime free software development solutions for industrial applications, has introduced a new set of communication class libraries that simplify connections between Microsoft .NET based applications and MODBUS devices and controllers. The new offering, the INGEAR.NET.MBLINK class library, enables developers to build runtime free MODBUS connectivity into applications built on Windows, ASP.NET and Compact Framework programs and applications written using Visual Basic.NET or Visual C# programming languages.

"Without question MODBUS is the de-facto standard of industrial communications protocols. However, even with the abundance of MODBUS software solutions, programmers can still invest significant development time to create .NET applications. Using our new INGEAR.NET.MBLINK class libraries, developers now have sophisticated, feature-rich functionality in an easy to use .NET assembly. And, because the libraries are runtime free, once developers build software communications objects, they can deploy them without paying recurring license fees," says CimQuest INGEAR president Chuck Karwoski.

INGEAR.NET.MBLINK supports MODBUS TCP/IP, Serial (RTU/ASCII) and Encapsulated Ethernet communication transports in a single runtime free .NET assembly. INGEAR.NET.MBLINK optimizes communication for lightning fast data throughput and provides data quality codes, time stamps and data change event notification for all values. INGEAR.NET.MBLINK offers users a multi-platform solution with .NET, ASP.NET and Compact Framework editions of the software.

The INGEAR.NET MBLINK class library is an extension of the INGEAR.NET™ family of communications class libraries, which simplify connectivity to other popular industrial platforms. Products include NET.LOGIX library for communicating with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix, the NET.ABLINK library for communicating with PLC-5/SLC/MicroLogix, and the NET.GELINK for communicating with GE-FANUC Series 90/PAC System PLC's and controllers and instrumentation. CimQuest INGEAR also offers a full set of graphing and charting components which developers can bundle with these communication class libraries to create a complete HMI solution using Visual Studio .NET.
