New Web-Based Analyst Report Formats Make IT Management Research More Actionable

ROCKLAND, MA--(Marketwire - Aug 18, 2011) - TRAC Research, an analyst and research firm specializing in IT performance management, announced today two new research publishing mediums, Hub Market Reports and Research Self-Service Instrument. These interactive publishing platforms allow IT and business users to access research findings specific to their individual use cases of IT management technologies, as well as to generate their own customized reports based on their particular requirements. Both of these formats are enabled by survey data from TRAC's IT management community and the research findings span across areas such as network and application performance management, Web performance, WAN optimization, systems management, cloud and virtualization management and IT performance testing.

"Based on our current research, IT users are not necessarily looking to find out what vendor is a market leader or what is the best technology in the market, but what solutions and capabilities can be the most effective in their specific usage scenarios. What truly defines relevant and actionable research is the ability to allow IT users to access research findings the same way they go about evaluating IT management technologies -- based on the fit for their particular environment. TRAC's new interactive research formats allow organizations to select their own paths when accessing the research findings and gives them tools to generate custom reports with recommendations that can be truly actionable. Our new research tools represent an industry shift from 'matrix-based' market landscape reports and give more power to readers of IT research by letting them create their own views into research findings while making research methodology and underlining data more transparent," said Bojan Simic, president and principal analyst, TRAC Research.

TRAC's Hub reports are industry-first market landscape publications that are using an interactive layout to help IT users understand what products and capabilities are best positioned to meet their individual needs. The first Hub report will be published on September 10.

TRAC's self-service research Instrument is a Web-based, Java-enabled application that allows users to access research data behind TRAC's reports, customize the data views based on more than 200 variables and generate custom reports. Types of custom reports range from comparing individual IT performance to industry standards, providing recommendations for closing specific performance gaps to recommending specific products that are best positioned for addressing individual challenges that IT users are facing. The portal will be available on December 15th.

Qualified members of TRAC's IT user community will receive complimentary access to both of these new formats. For more information visit TRAC's IT management community.
