New Websense® TRITON™ Solution Technical Enablement Program Available to Channel Partners Worldwide

Websense Continues to Put the Customer First; In-Depth Training Helps Websense Channel Partners Win More Business and Deliver More Valuable Services

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - September 23, 2010) -  Continuing to demonstrate its commitment to global channel partners and their customers, Websense, Inc. (NASDAQ: WBSN), a global leader in unified Web, data and email security solutions, has created the new Websense TRITON Solution Technical Enablement Program for Websense ChannelConnect™ Partners. The program provides a clear, step-by-step path for achieving TRITON technical certification on the industry-leading Websense TRITON architecture, delivered and paid for by Websense.

"The new Websense TRITON Solution Technical Enablement Program delivers something our partners have been asking for: enhanced technical readiness and customer support for Websense solutions," says Kurt Mills, vice president, worldwide channels, Websense. "The knowledge and expertise they get from the TRITON certification enables our channel partners to better service their customers, compete more effectively, and win new business. That's what it's all about -- ensuring our partners' success."

Adoption of the Websense TRITON architecture among Websense customers continues to grow strongly, delivering the best protection against modern threats at the lowest total cost. And because there is a growing movement in enterprises from being content-aware to being content-secure as part of internet security, this is a tremendous sales and service opportunity for Websense channel partners who are certified to market, sell, and support the Websense TRITON solution.

Designed by Websense sales, marketing, and technical engineers, the new TRITON Solution Technical Enablement Program and corresponding TRITON Olympian certification builds on the framework of the existing channel training program and marks a clear milestone in the ongoing success of the award-winning Websense TRITON solution Customer First Initiative, a three-pronged program that includes: enhanced support, training and tools and education to help customers achieve the best security at the lowest total cost of ownership using the Websense TRITON solution. Previously-certified sales engineers and partners may be grandfathered into the new TRITON Solution Technical Enablement Program and achieve TRITON Olympian certification by completing a certification exam.

"The TRITON certification will strengthen our customer value proposition and build on our success as one of the region's most trusted IT security advisors," says Ken Phelan, chief technology officer, Gotham Technology Group. "Our customers have been extremely pleased with the innovation and value that the Websense TRITON architecture delivers, including unified management for Web, email, and data security. With this new TRITON certification we will be able to further differentiate our services and deliver greater value to our clients with the industry's best security solution for modern threats."

The new certification program is straightforward and flexible. Websense organized the training into two distinct levels, with certification being earned after successful completion of the second level. Each level provides channel partners with a greater understanding of both the TRITON architecture as well as how the high-performance security solution benefits customers from a business and technical perspective. These two levels are:

  • 101 Level -- A self-paced, on-demand, online training course that uses interactive video presentations and a virtual lab to educate channel partners on the fundamental features and functions of Websense Web, email, and data loss prevention (DLP) technology. Partners who complete this level also have a basic understanding of administrative tasks.
  • 201 Level -- An instructor-led training course that uses lectures and hands-on exercises in a lab environment. Participants interact with peers and experienced Websense trainers to ensure that partners have a clear understanding of the advanced features and functions of the Websense Web, email, and DLP technology. After successfully completing this level, channel partners are able to perform advanced tasks, including implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting.

Websense channel partners will earn the TRITON Olympian certification, the highest certification available for each of the Websense technologies, by passing the 101 Level exam for Websense Web, email, and DLP technologies, as well as the 201 Level exam for one of the three security solutions. Once all the necessary exams are passed, channel partners must also shadow a Websense engineer during a Websense TRITON solution deployment.
