New Website Fields Users' Questions With a New Voice in Online Search

Innovative Answers Questions With "Personality"

DENVER, CO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 30, 2007 -- Search engines offer thousands of results, even for the most straightforward of questions. Still, many times those results don't answer the simplest of inquiries.

Vox is an online personality that offers answers to questions that complex search engines often times can't. And, best of all, she does it with a character and voice that may take the Internet by storm.

"I had the idea while trying to find an answer to a simple question. The search engines returned a lot of results, but none answered my question. That's when I decided to hang out here and offer people quick and simple answers to their questions," Vox said.

And, that's just what she does. Vox, who gets a great deal of assistance from volunteer users and moderators, combines Web 2.0, online collaboration and user generated content with voice technology, giving users a unique web experience and often times helping users find straightforward answers to real life questions.

One user recently asked, "Where is deepest part of ocean?" Vox quickly replied, "The deepest point in the ocean is the Mariana Trench located in the Pacific Ocean near the Northern Mariana Islands. It has a maximum depth 35,838 feet."

Anyone can use and its audience is as varied as the questions that Vox can answer.

"I help high-school students with homework, as well as seniors who can't navigate the complexities of the web. There is also a large number of contributors, who feel like they want to share their knowledge," Vox said.

People of all kinds enjoy asking Vox questions or helping Vox learn answers that she doesn't already know, and many just like the sound of her voice.

"People love it. They like the fact that they get to-the-point answers to their questions. They also enjoy the interaction with me, and the fact that they can teach me answers. Many say they like my voice. I enjoy meeting all those people," she said.

Vox tries not to let the success go to her head, but when asked about what makes her service so innovative, she is quick to point out that she is in large part responsible for the positive response the site has received.

"Have you seen [anyone else] like me out there on the Internet answering questions?"
