New World Systems Customer Eden Prairie, Minn. Receives First Place Recognition for Advances in Public Safety Technology

TROY, MI--(Marketwire - Nov 16, 2011) - New World Systems congratulates the City of Eden Prairie, Minn. for taking first place in the 2011 Digital Cities Survey. Announced earlier this month, the City was awarded first place in the population 30,000-74,999 category for their recent consolidation efforts and public safety technology enhancements that have improved service delivery throughout the City. A big part of their efforts included implementation of New World Systems' Aegis™ Public Safety software solutions to replace four disparate systems, bring police and fire on the same solution and enable better information sharing with surrounding agencies.

The 11th annual Digital Cities Survey, conducted by The Center for Digital Government and Government Technology, "spotlights the municipalities that best show how information and communication technology are used to enhance public service."

"During the past few years, we have been focusing on doing more with less by consolidating our servers and applications," said Lisa Wu, Manager of Information Technology and CIO for Eden Prairie. "New World Systems' integrated software is helping us bring our police and fire together and is a big part of our application integration and our efforts to work smarter."

New World's solutions have allowed Eden Prairie to replace silos of public safety information with one unified suite of applications and more access to critical data for Police and Fire. This has reduced redundant data entry and paperwork and helped to increase accuracy of information. The City is also able to share more information with the county and state much faster.

"This award confirms that we are headed in the right direction," said Wu. "We have a dedicated staff and will continue to work with New World to achieve our goals."

The Survey also recognized Eden Prairie for other efforts centered on saving money on hardware purchases, using wireless connections instead of fiber and the adoption of GIS and GPS technology for various City departments.

"We are pleased to congratulate Eden Prairie for this accomplishment and are proud that our solutions are a part of helping the City accomplish more with less and improve service to their community," said Mark Prevost, Vice President of Marketing for New World Systems. "In total, seven New World Systems customers were recognized in the 2011 Digital Cities Survey. Each year, as our customers gain recognition in this survey, and the annual Digital Counties survey, it is a testament to the innovative agencies that utilize New World Systems' software to streamline local government and improve public safety and service to their communities."
