New World Systems Launches Aegis Justice Link Software for Public Safety

TROY, MI -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 27, 2005 -- New World Systems, a leading provider of enterprise-wide software solutions for the public sector, announced the release of Aegis® Justice Link, an information sharing solution for public safety agencies nationwide.

New World's Aegis Justice Link provides agencies true justice information sharing capabilities among multiple agencies. Authorized public safety officials may conduct a search for a person, vehicle, property, gun, etc., across multiple Records databases to provide officials with potentially critical information that can increase safety and enhance investigations. It also provides a link to query the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), and access the results within the same screen.

Integrating information among public safety agencies can be a powerful tool in solving and preventing crimes, as officials can gather information on specific crimes and suspects both within and outside their jurisdiction.

"Partnering with New World and using Aegis Justice Link allows us to share information with our local, state and federal partners, providing officers with real-time access to vital information while in the field," said Chief of Police Garnett F. Watson, Jr., Gary, Indiana Police Department. "This solution gives us an edge when dealing with criminals, because we have access to several databases with critical information. It has helped us solved several crimes, including a serial rapist, a stolen vehicle, a hit and run, and more."

Having access to this information expedites the officers' ability to assess possible threatening situations and provides the opportunity to act accordingly.

Over the years, agencies have viewed its information as proprietary, but since the tragic events on September 11, 2001, the need for information sharing escalated. Aegis Justice Link is a secure solution that only allows authorized individuals to access specific information. For example, juvenile records and employee records can remain confidential.

"We are excited about the evolution of our Regional Data Sharing solution to Aegis Justice Link," said Ken Lang, vice president of marketing, New World Systems. "With already proven success in the field and the capabilities of Global Justice XML support, this solution will be a key tool in the hands of law enforcement."
