The New York Physical Therapy Association and EDUCATA Partner to Provide Online Education

Therapists Looking to Fulfill Newly Enacted Mandate Can Chose From Large Selection of Interactive Courses

CALABASAS, CA--(Marketwire - December 10, 2009) - The New York Physical Therapy Association (NYPTA) and web 2.0 education provider EDUCATA announced the launch of a joint physical therapy continuing education resource for NY PTs. As a new law requiring CE credits is being implemented, the agreement makes it easy and convenient for professionals to access board-approved courses and interact with educators through the association's website.

"This is a time of important changes in the state's registration process," said Leslie Woods, CAE, NYPTA Executive Director. "Our partnership with EDUCATA answers to the need of making relevant courses widely available to PTs and PTAs -- on their own schedule and at a place of their own choosing."

"We are very excited about partnering with NYPTA," said Marilyn Pink, PT, Ph.D., EDUCATA President and CEO. "Our technology platform allows us to bring top-of-the-line educators to the PT's desktop, whether they are in the bustling metropolitan areas or in remote rural settings. And given the interactive nature of the courses, complying with the new CE requirements will be not only convenient, but also extremely gratifying."

The law requiring continuing education hours was approved in July of 2008 but starts to apply to those renewing their certification on or after September 1, 2009. Additional information and specifics can be found at the Office of the Professions' page.
