New York Trial Attorney Elected Trustee, Civil Justice Foundation

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - September 4, 2007) - SHANA DE CARO, Esq., a member of the New York and Westchester law firm, DE CARO & KAPLEN, LLP, was elected as a trustee of the Civil Justice Foundation at its annual meeting in Chicago, Ill.

The Civil Justice Foundation champions justice by providing grants to grass roots consumer advocacy groups involved in vital consumer safety issues and preserving access to justice.

De Caro was elected to the foundation's prestigious board of trustees whose responsibility includes evaluating and awarding grants to the most outstanding consumer advocacy groups in the United States. Since its inception in 1986, the Foundation has granted in excess of one million dollars to over 100 consumer groups across the country. The board of trustees is comprised of 19 members of the American Association for Justice and 7 consumer activists.

De Caro also serves as a member of the executive committee of the Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation Group of the American Association for Justice where she coordinates national advocacy efforts for lawyers who represent victims of brain damage.
