New Z-Finder EVF Firmware Update Available for Download

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Aug 10, 2011) - Z-Finder EVF owners will be pleased to know that a new firmware upgrade number 1.01.00 is now available for Zacuto's wildly popular electronic viewfinder. The upgrade as well as all future upgrades can be downloaded free of charge at

"With these frequent firmware upgrades, we can constantly make improvements to our Z-Finder EVF," says Zacuto product designer, Patrick Fee. "Anytime we find something that people want or a problem that we can fix, we can just upgrade the firmware and our clients can download it from the website. The possibilities are endless."

The new EVF firmware upgrade boasts new audio meters as well as a battery meter that can be positioned in any of the four corners of the EVF screen, an audio loop through feature, implemented underscan and Red One and Sony FS100 scaling presets. As suggested by Zacuto customers, users will also now be able to save and recall chroma, contrast and brightness settings as presets. Changes to color, brightness and contrast will now save on power down and return on power up as well.

Upgrading your Z-Finder EVF's firmware is a quick and easy process. Once you download the firmware, simply copy the upgrade file onto a FAT32 formatted USB thumb drive. It is important to know that you must use a thumb drive. A USB cable connecting your Z-Finder EVF to your computer will not work. Once the file is copied onto the thumb drive, insert the device into your EVF USB port. Select the UPDATE option from the EVF menu screen and select START UPDATE. The EVF will do the rest of the work.
