Newalta Corporation ("Newalta") (TSX:NAL) announced today that it has completed its previously disclosed equity financing on a bought deal basis at a price of $14.00 per share. The underwriting syndicate exercised the full over-allotment option resulting in the issuance by Newalta of 5,500,000 common shares for gross proceeds of $77 million (estimated net proceeds of $73.5 million). The underwriting syndicate was led by RBC Capital Markets.
Newalta has expanded its organic growth plan and as such, the net proceeds of the offering will be used to fund the expanded plan and contribute to the funding of customer-driven capital projects. Proceeds of the offering will initially be used to reduce indebtedness and for general corporate purposes until fully invested.
