Newmeyer & Dillion Attorneys to Speak at West Coast Casualty's Construction Defect Seminar


NEWPORT BEACH, CA--(Marketwired - May 6, 2014) - Three attorneys from Newmeyer & Dillion, LLP, one of California's most successful multi-service business and real estate law firms, will speak at West Coast Casualty's Construction Defect Seminar on May 16 at the Disneyland Resort Hotel in Anaheim.

Newmeyer & Dillion attorneys John O'Hara and Jonathan Terry will speak from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the Grand Ballroom on "Right to Repair Up in the Air," and Alan Packer will speak from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. in the South Ballroom on "Conflicts of Interest: The Often Ignored Elephant in the Room in Construction Defect."

The seminar, the largest of its kind in the world, focuses on all elements of the prosecution, defense, coverage and technologies of construction defect claims and litigation from a national perspective. Mr. O'Hara is a litigation partner in Newmeyer & Dillion's Newport Beach and Las Vegas offices with a varied civil litigation practice involving construction, insurance, real estate and class action claims. Mr. O'Hara represents residential real estate developers in complex, multi-party construction defect matters and counseling in risk management, insurance and alternative dispute resolution.

Mr. Terry, formerly of Ulich & Terry LLP, is a new partner with Newmeyer & Dillion. His practice includes residential and commercial construction, real property and premises liability claims, commercial disputes and bond claims in California state and federal district courts. 

Mr. Packer is a partner in Newmeyer & Dillion's expanding Walnut Creek office. He has practiced law in California, representing parties involved in real estate, home building, commercial construction and insurance matters. Mr. Packer represents homebuilders, property owners, and business clients on a broad range of legal matters, including risk management, insurance matters, wrap consultation and documentation, efforts to counter solicitation of homeowners, subcontract documentation, as well as complex litigation matters including construction defect and product defect claims, cost recovery actions, additional insured litigation with insurers, and creative dispute resolution.
