Founder Jamison Monroe Jr. Brings Chicago Area a Recovery High School Providing Accredited Curriculum for Students Working a Program of Recovery

NEWPORT BEACH, CA--(Marketwired - May 30, 2013) - Founder of Newport Academy and Newport Academy Day School, Jamison Monroe Jr. is pleased to announce the opening of Newport Academy Day School's newest campus in Lake Forest, Illinois. Set to open its doors on June 3, 2013, the Newport Academy Day School, Lake Forest Campus is a therapeutic day school designed specifically for teens committed to remaining abstinent from self-destructive behaviors, while provided with the tools necessary to flourish in a structured academic setting. Features of the Lake Forest Day School include an accredited curriculum, small class size, 1:3 staff-to-student ratio, individualized educational plans, recovery groups facilitated by masters-level counselors, individual counseling, experiential therapies, yoga, DBT Skills, college preparatory, educational testing, and a full assessment of each students' academic needs.

"While the number of adolescents in desperate need of focused attention and treatment continues to skyrocket, the Newport Academy team is committed to bringing the solution to the entire country, campus by campus," said Jamison Monroe Jr., Founder of Newport Academy and Newport Academy Day School. Monroe added, "By designing a specialized program that takes into consideration each student's personal academic goals and abstinence from drugs and alcohol, our day school model has seen enormous success; we are thrilled and honored to be in a position to bring hope and help to the Midwest and beyond."

"85% of kids that attend the Newport Academy Day School stay sober. Looking at the National averages, the opposite is true for kids that don't go into a recovery high school and go back into a traditional school setting. According to research, only about 15% of those kids will stay sober. There is a huge need for these schools in every community," says Devon Green, Director of Education at Newport Academy and a Master's level credentialed teacher.

The Newport Academy Day School delivers a therapeutic setting that provides exceptional recovery counseling and individualized academic programming. Along with a strong recovery component, the Day School provides a number of experiential therapies to promote self-reflection, foster group support and well-being.
