Newport News Veterinarian Launches New Website to Better Serve Pet Owners

NEWPORT NEWS, VA--(Marketwire - Oct 5, 2011) - Deer Park Animal Hospital, which serves the Newport News and Hampton Roads pet communities, has launched a new website, http://NewportNewsVet.com. The redesigned site features information on services at the veterinary clinic, including routine wellness exams, spay and neuter, vaccinations, pet dentistry, dog boarding and laser surgery. The veterinary hospital also offers emergency and urgent care. The website was designed so that pet owners can have easy access to veterinary topics and find answers to their pet wellness questions any hour of the day or night.

In an effort to better serve pet owners in the Newport News and Hampton Roads communities, the Deer Park Animal Hospital has launched a new website, http://NewportNewsVet.com. In addition to information on the veterinary hospital's services, which include routine wellness, emergency & urgent care, laser surgery, boarding and pet dental care, the website features an extensive pet wellness library.

"We are excited to launch our new website and further our mission as a 'family helping families,' by providing pet owners with 24/7 access to critical pet wellness information," said veterinarian and animal clinic owner Dr. John Savell. "The goal with this website is to provide pet owners with the latest veterinary knowledge so they can help their pets live long, healthy lives. We designed this site to be easy to use so pet owners can quickly find the information they need."

To access the animal hospital's online wellness library, users can click on the 'Veterinary Topics' link visible on the side of any page. Pet owners can learn more about how to choose the right pet for their families, what to expect when they first bring their pet home, and how to train their pet with basic obedience skills. There is also an important checklist for evaluating a pet's symptoms to determine if the pet is ill and requires urgent or emergency care. "Recognizing signs of sickness can be tricky, especially if it is a condition that develops slowly over time," said Dr. Savell. "Hopefully this information will empower pet owners to make the right choices for their pet's health, so they know what symptoms to look for, and can respond appropriately."

Animal lovers and pet owners can learn more about the latest topics in veterinary wellness through the veterinary blog or by becoming a website member. Membership is free, and offers access to special "Members Only" topics, including the Pet Wellness Program, PetTV, and the Pets4Kids educational resources. Members can also post questions for the veterinarian on the blog.

Pet owners who are considering visiting the veterinary hospital can take a "virtual tour" of the facilities. The New Patient Center also includes information on payment options, military discount, what to expect during the first visit to the veterinary clinic, and online forms that can be filled out in advance of the first visit.

Interested pet owners can use the online appointment form to request an appointment. Website visitors can also take advantage of an online special and receive 10% off their first visit, when they download a coupon from the website. The Newport News veterinary clinic also serves the Hampton Roads pet communities. Pet owners interested in learning more can visit the website at http://newportnewsvet.com.
