NEWS ALERT -- Hong Kong Welcomes the Year of the Monkey on February 8

Hong Kong International Chinese New Year Night Parade; The Parade Route Transforms Into an Epic Playground; Free Satellite Feed & Fiber Signal for Broadcasting

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - February 04, 2016) - Organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), the Cathay Pacific International Chinese New Year Night Parade will be held on the first day of the Chinese New Year (8 February) in Tsim Sha Tsui. This will be the 21st staging and the theme will be "Playground of the World • Party of the Year". Tsim Sha Tsui will be transformed into a big playground. Festive floats, Hong Kong local performing troupes crossover international, as well as Star Wars Storm Troopers and Darth Vader joining the parade, allow local residents and visitors the opportunity to experience the festive New Year atmosphere.

Following are some of the firstly joined international performing groups:

  • USA, Indianapolis Colts Cheerleaders and Blue
  • Japan, Sanrio Family
  • Germany, DUNDU -- The Gentle Giant of Lights
  • The United Kingdom, Spark! Drummers
  • Korea, King Sejong Fantasy Performing Art by Korea University
  • The Philippines, Iloilo Dinagyang Festival -- Tribu Panayanon
  • Russia, The Moscow Variety Show
  • The Netherlands, Stilt Walker "The Dinosaurs"

The HKTB cordially invites TV stations to broadcast the parade on 8 February, from 20:00-21:45 Hong Kong Time (GMT+8). Signals will be transmitted via satellite and fiber for use by overseas broadcasters. Below please find detailed information:
