NEWS CONFERENCE
BUILD IT RIGHT - CHILD CARE CAMPAIGN
Hamilton & District Labour Council
1130 Barton Street East, Room 210
Hamilton, Ontario
Tuesday, March 1, 2005
1:30 p.m.

The Build It Right Child Care Campaign, currently touring the province, will be in Hamilton on Tuesday March 1. The province-wide Campaign by the Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care, the Ontario Federation of Labour and the Canadian Labour Congress is holding forums, hosted by local labour councils, in 15 cities across Ontario.

The recent Federal budget committed $5 billion, over five years, for the creation of a national early learning and child care system. Parents and child care communities across Canada have been working harder than ever to ensure that our governments get the building blocks for a system right - right from the start. The news conference and evening forum will outline the need for a child care system that is built on Quality, Universal, Accessible and Developmental principles.

In attendance at the news conference:

Laurie Jeandron, Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care
Wayne Marston, President, Hamilton & District Labour Council
Sue Slean, Vice-President, Ontario Federation of Labour

The Child Care Forum takes place at the Hamilton Sheraton Hotel on March 1st from 7 - 9:00 p.m.
