NewsGator Hosts Webinar to Help Media Companies Leverage OpenSocial

DENVER, CO--(Marketwire - December 3, 2007) - NewsGator Technologies, Inc., a pioneer in RSS and Enterprise 2.0, today announced that the company will host a free webinar on December 5th, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. EST (11:00 a.m. PST) to show media companies and publishers how they can better leverage OpenSocial to expand and promote their brand, syndicate content, engage readers and increase traffic.

Led by Kevin Marks, developer advocate of Google, Inc. and NewsGator executives, the webinar will focus on how companies can use the OpenSocial programming model to extend their brand into social networking and other container sites including LinkedIn, Salesforce, Friendster and Plaxo.

OpenSocial is a programming model developed by Google in which developers and container websites are provided with a set of common APIs enabling distribution of applications and content across multiple sites. This informative webinar will address some of the following issues:

--  What is OpenSocial and who is using it;
--  The benefits of integrating with OpenSocial;
--  Opportunities for monetization;
-- How publishers can take advantage of it.

"This quick webinar will serve as a primer on OpenSocial and provide attendees valuable information about how to incorporate and leverage OpenSocial within their online strategies," said Brian Kellner, vice president of products for NewsGator. "NewsGator is one of the early participators in OpenSocial, and having been one of the first companies to develop an application (Didja Hear!?) on these APIs, we have a lot of insight to share that can help get companies up to speed on this next innovation in new media."

Participants can register for the webinar at
