Nexamp Completes Installation of a 260 kW Solar Array for the H.T. Berry Company

Paper Product Distributor Expects to Meet 100% of Its Annual Electricity Demand Through Solar Power

CANTON, MA--(Marketwire - Apr 17, 2012) - As part of the company's ongoing commitment to promoting sustainable business practices, H.T. Berry (www.htberry.com) has announced the completion of a 260 kW array at its 100,000 square foot warehouse in Canton, MA.

The rooftop project -- designed and built by Nexamp (www.nexamp.com) of North Andover, MA -- consists of more than 1,100 panels and will produce about 300,000 kWh of electricity annually. According to H.T. Berry, this puts them on track to be the only net-zero electricity distributor of paper, disposable product and janitorial sanitary product in the region.

"The system is performing as promised, and our utility bill has been cut even more significantly than expected. As a company with high standards for corporate sustainability, an investment in a solar project that is in line with our environmental and economic goals is a great achievement for H.T. Berry," said the company's President, Chris Nolan.

The rooftop project is representative of Nexamp's continued success in the commercial solar sector. The company has designed and installed over 60 commercial-scale projects in Massachusetts, where customers have taken advantage of Nexamp's straightforward cash purchase and power purchase agreement (PPA) options for solar projects.

"As a Massachusetts-based company, Nexamp is always proud to work with prominent and forward-thinking businesses in the Commonwealth like H.T. Berry," said John Malloy, President and CEO of Nexamp. "In addition to several other impressive sustainability efforts, H.T. Berry has recognized solar as a sound long-term investment that will benefit the firm and its customers for decades to come."

To celebrate its most recent efforts, H.T. Berry hosted a public customer appreciation and Earth Day Celebration event on Friday, April 13th. Attendees had opportunities to hear about emerging industry-related sustainability trends and products, and discover H.T. Berry's Sustainability Solutions platform, which gives Boston area businesses a roadmap for successfully bridging environmental objectives with cost savings goals.
