Nexmo Launches International Cloud-Based Voice Services, Offering the Largest Virtual Phone Number Coverage in the World

SAN FRANCISCO, CA and BARCELONA, SPAIN--(Marketwired - Feb 24, 2014) - Having recently closed $18 million in its Series C funding, Nexmo, the company that enables enterprises and developers to communicate via cloud services simply and seamlessly with any phone globally, today announced the launch of the company's new cloud-based voice services.

Nexmo connects cloud applications to billions of phones, enabling businesses to interact instantly with their customers on a global basis. Nexmo now extends cloud applications to connected devices with comprehensive new voice capabilities including text-to-speech, cloud-based voice interactive applications, phone number provisioning, as well as intelligent call management.

"With the launch of the new Nexmo Voice APIs, we now enable enterprises and developers to provide comprehensive, business critical messaging and voice experiences for their customers and end-users," said Nexmo CEO Tony Jamous. "We now offer the largest coverage in the world, with cloud-based virtual phone numbers in over 61 countries -- and we keep expanding. Our goal is to interact with any mobile device anywhere around the globe."

One of the unique benefits to Nexmo's new voice services is its "pay-as-you-go, per-second" billing model. This provides cost flexibility and enables customers to enjoy significant cost reduction.

Nexmo enables companies to replace rigid and costly interfaces to telecom infrastructure with a new generation of cloud communication that is delivered as a service. Nexmo's comprehensive set of REST Cloud APIs are programming language agnostic, easy-to-use, and provide increased agility and shorter time-to-market. Customers with existing infrastructure can switch to Nexmo in minutes, not the months it can take traditional vendors. Text to Speech is also easy to implement, as Nexmo provides the high-quality voice library and transcriptions in most languages.

Nexmo's new voice services are designed for many different types of app developers and enterprise customers, including: Over-The-Top (OTT) communication apps, enterprise, e-commerce, social networks, financial services, re-sellers and more. It is also ideal for CRM and SaaS providers, conferencing service providers, enterprise data and call centers.

Jamous and the Nexmo team will be discussing the new voice services launch this week at Mobile World Congress, February 24 - 27, in Barcelona, Spain. The company will also be talking about how Nexmo has recently expanded its industry-leading senior team of mobility and communication experts, with executives from technology's leading brands, including Skype, Microsoft and eBay. Combined with today's news, the new executive appointments further position Nexmo to capitalize on its growing global footprint and ability to scale.
