NextBus® to Provide Bus and Train Real-Time Passenger Information to North San Diego County, California Residents

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - May 12, 2011) - WebTech Wireless Inc. (TSX:WEW), a leading provider of vehicle fleet location-based services and telematics technology, today announced that it has signed a two-year contract with North County Transit District (NCTD) to implement a NextBus Real-Time Passenger Information System (RTPIS) for all of the NCTD's fixed-route transit services.

The NCTD will implement NextBus RTPIS on its three fixed-route services: BREEZE transit buses, COASTER commuter trains, and SPRINTER light rail. Buses will use an existing GPS location data feed, and on the COASTER and SPRINTER rail services, NextBus will install GPS suites that include vehicle logic units, dual-band antennae, and all cabling. In addition, NextBus will install LCD and LED signs, and kiosks at selected stops and NCTD's transit centers. All with the goal of providing users with highly accurate, system-wide, bus and train arrival information.

"I want to say congratulations to NextBus on winning our important Passenger Information Systems bid, and that the NCTD team is very much looking forward to working with NextBus and deploying this exciting toolset for our riders. I view this as the single most important ARRA project NCTD is undertaking, and a substantial investment in our future. The NextBus team is the key to our success, and we look forward to having a project that proves positive for both entities," said Angela Miller, Chief Information Officer, North County Transit District and Vice Chair of the Information Technology Committee of the American Public Transit Association (APTA).

"We're very excited to be working with the NCTD on this important project, and applaud their vision to implement NextBus on both bus and rail transit modes. It highlights the fact that NextBus is just as applicable to trains – and virtually all types of transit vehicles for that matter – as it is to buses," said Scott Edmonds, Webtech Wireless' President and CEO. Adding, "NextBus continues to build a dominant position in the California RTPIS market, and we're pleased that North County is joining San Francisco, the East Bay, Los Angeles, and a host of other agencies in offering NextBus to their riders."

The NCTD provides public transportation to North San Diego County, California, providing more than 12.5 million passenger trips per year through four modes: BREEZE buses, COASTER commuter trains, SPRINTER light rail, and LIFT paratransit. More information at: gonctd.com.
