NextG Networks Achieves Major Milestone, Extending Its National Reach to 5,000 DAS Sites

NextG Continues to Broaden Its Service to the Top Eight U.S. Metropolitan Markets; 1,500 Additional Sites Under Development

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - February 24, 2010) -  NextG Networks, Inc. has achieved an industry first with the launch of its 5,000th DAS site, through buildouts of its coverage base in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, where it has long held a dominant position. NextG is a leading provider of fiber-fed distributed antenna systems (DAS) that enhance network coverage, capacity and performance for wireless carriers.

A coast-to-coast provider of DAS systems, NextG provides coverage and capacity improvement solutions for wireless carriers. NextG's DAS networks enable carriers to add greater capacity to their wireless networks, where it is not practical to build new, traditional cellular towers.

DAS networks can assist in achieving the national goals of extending wireless voice and broadband coverage into underserved areas, as well as areas where capacity demand has exceeded the ability of carriers to deliver that capacity using larger facilities.

"This is an outstanding milestone made possible through the dedication of our entire NextG team and the strong relationships we have with our partners and customers," said David Cutrer, CEO and co-founder of NextG Networks. "This achievement reflects the growth of DAS as a mainstream solution, our technology leadership position, and our deep expertise in acquiring access rights to the public way for wireless network deployment."

NextG continues to experience expansive growth in DAS deployments. In addition to the 5,000 DAS sites now in operation, the company has more than 1,500 new, additional DAS sites under contract and in various stages of development. Today NextG holds a significant position in DAS deployments nationally, with substantial presence in the top eight MSAs (Metropolitan Statistical Areas) in the United States.

NextG systems enable carriers to improve performance in their wireless networks by increasing voice quality, improving call handling, reducing the number of dropped calls, extending mobile coverage, speeding file transfers, and enhancing video quality.
