NextG Networks Receives 2010 4GWE Wireless Backhaul Distinction Award

NextG Recognized for Outstanding Distributed Antenna System (DAS) Deployments, Allowing Wireless Carriers to Quickly and Cost-Effectively Upgrade Networks to Deliver 4G Services

MILPITAS, CA--(Marketwire - November 18, 2010) - NextG Networks, Inc., a leading provider of fiber-fed distributed antenna systems (DAS) that enhance network coverage, capacity and performance for wireless carriers, announced today that Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC), a global, integrated media company, in conjunction with Crossfire Media, has presented NextG Networks with the 2010 Wireless Backhaul Distinction Award.

NextG Networks was honored for its industry leadership and innovation enabling wireless carriers to upgrade their networks to 4G (fourth-generation technology) to support the explosive growth of smartphones. NextG's fiber-fed DAS networks were designed to accommodate forward migration to new technologies and new frequency bands. As operators implement 4G wireless services and provide new customer-focused applications, the ease of upgrading their networks and adding capacity to support long-term evolution (LTE) and WiMAX is critical. NextG provides a simple migration for carriers by offering small, dense deployments of DAS sites that can handle dramatic network traffic growth resulting from heavy use of mobile smartphones' multimedia applications such as video, streaming TV, social networking and driving directions.
