NextHop Appoints Industry Veterans PG Menon as Vice President of Marketing and Daniel Edelson as Vice President of Engineering

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 22, 2005 -- NextHop Technologies® Inc., the leader in networking software solutions, today announced two additions to the executive team. PG Menon, formerly vice president and general manager at Arris, was appointed as vice president of marketing responsible for all product management and marketing activities for the company. Daniel Edelson, formerly director of engineering for wireless technologies with NextHop, was promoted to vice president of engineering to oversee all NextHop development efforts for both enterprise and carrier class technologies.

NextHop recently announced the availability of GateD® NGC (Next Generation Carrier) 2.7 software to expand the services carriers can offer to their customers. GateD NGC 2.7 added IPv6 multiprotocol label switching (MPLS), enhanced high availability capabilities within MPLS and virtual private local area network services (VPLS) to NextHop's reliable, scalable routing software.

PG Menon was most recently vice president and general manager at Arris International, a leading supplier of voice and data equipment for cable operators, in their Atoga Metro Solutions Division. Menon, vice president of marketing and co-founder at Atoga Systems, joined Arris upon its acquisition of Atoga. Before Atoga, Menon was senior director of product management at Cabletron Systems, and also held senior marketing management positions at YAGO Systems and Bay Networks and also as a senior software engineer at Digital Equipment Corp. Menon has an MS EE from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an undergraduate degree in EE from BHU-IT, India.

Daniel Edelson has over 15 years experience in developing network software solutions. Prior to NextHop, Edelson held director level positions in engineering at Orbital Data Corporation and Redback Networks where he ran software engineering for the SMS Broadband Remote Access Server product line. Before Redback, he was director of software engineering at Merlin systems and Ascend Communications which was acquired by Lucent Technologies. Edelson holds a PhD, an MS and a BA from the University of California, Santa Cruz in computer science.
