Niagara Region CPA Student Makes National Honour Roll

21 Other Local Students Pass Challenging Professional Entry Exam

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Nov. 29, 2013) - Daniel Mancini, a Niagara Region Chartered Professional Accounting student, was one of just 20 Ontario students to make the prestigious Honour Roll for top marks on this year's Canada-wide Uniform Evaluation (UFE).

The UFE, written in September, is a national three-day evaluation that assesses competencies including essential knowledge, professional judgment, ethics and the ability to communicate. The UFE is an important component of the CPA qualification program, which includes prescribed education, practical experience and examination requirements. Only those who complete this entire program successfully are entitled to use the internationally recognized designation of Chartered Professional Accountant, a profession known for superior financial expertise, strategic thinking, business insight and leadership.

A St. Catharines resident, Mr. Mancini has a Bachelor of Accounting degree from Brock University and articles at Durward Jones Barkwell & Company in Niagara Falls.

On why he chose the profession, Mr. Mancini said: "I always knew I wanted to get into a business or accounting program. People told me to start out in accounting and see if it worked out for me. I took it in high school, really liked accounting and never looked back."

In total, Ontario had 1,201 of the country's 3,032 successful UFE writers and captured 20 of 54 National Honour roll spots. Toronto's Nicholas Tsai captured the Canada Gold Medal as the top writer of the Uniform Evaluation in the country.
