Niblack Breaks Ground on Underground Program

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 20, 2007) - Niblack Mining Corp. (TSX VENTURE:NIB) (the "Company") is pleased to announce that portal construction and tunnelling has commenced at the copper-zinc-gold-silver Niblack VMS project, southeast Alaska. The underground program, consisting of 1,800 metres (6,000 feet) of tunnel development, will provide drill access to areas beneath gold-rich base metal mineralization defined at the Lookout Zone. In addition to facilitating expansion of the Lookout Zone, the underground development will also provide a platform to explore the Mammoth Zone, and for new zones of massive sulphide along two kilometres of prospective stratigraphy. Drilling at the Mammoth Zone, located near the portal entrance, is scheduled to commence before year end, and will be followed by drilling at the Lookout Zone in the spring of 2008.

Paddy Nicol, President of Niblack Mining states, "The commencement of the underground program represents another significant step for the Company and is a key part of our short term strategy for the expansion of the Lookout Zone. Over the next eighteen to twenty-four months, it is our objective to define a mineable ore deposit at Niblack."

About the Project

Mineralization at Niblack is hosted by a thick sequence of rhyolite that exhibits widespread alteration and mineralization. Distribution of the six main massive sulphide occurrences - the historic Niblack Mine, Dama Zone, Lindsy Zone, Trio Zone, Mammoth Zone and Lookout Zone - is controlled by fold repetition of the rhyolite sequence, with the Lookout and Mammoth zones occurring on opposite limbs of a large synclinal fold. At the Lookout Zone, mineralization has been traced from the top of Lookout Mountain to depths of 500 metres (1,600 feet) below surface, and the zone is open at depth. The new portal, measuring 4.3 x 4.6 metres (14.5 x 15 feet), is collared at the base of Lookout Mountain at an elevation of 400 feet. Underground development will include a 1,000 metre (3,000 foot) main access tunnel that will pass through the deepest portion of the Lookout Zone, and three cross-cuts, each approximately 300 metres (1,000 feet) in length.
