NightHawk Radiology Services Chooses TeraRecon's Aquarius Technology for New Global 3D Initiative

SAN MATEO, CA--(Marketwire - May 29, 2007) - TeraRecon, Inc. (www.terarecon.com), a leader in advanced imaging processing technology and 3D visualization solutions, today announced that NightHawk Radiology (NASDAQ: NHWK), the world's leading provider of radiology services and solutions, has chosen TeraRecon as its technology platform for delivering image post-processing capabilities to its more than 1,300 contracted hospitals in the U.S. Through this partnership, NightHawk believes it is positioned to become the leading provider of 3D imaging services for radiology, cardiology and referring physicians, thereby exposing thousands of radiologists and physicians to the quality and benefits of TeraRecon 3D post-processed images.

With the recent adoption of 64-slice multi-detector CT scanners, many radiology departments are in need of after-hours 3D post processing and NightHawk is capable of offering this service at any hour of the night or day. Radiology departments can elect to have their cardiac CTA studies read by one of NightHawk's affiliated radiologists, have the renderings created and returned for their interpretation, or may wish to only have the non coronary interpretations performed.

"NightHawk undertook a careful and exhaustive evaluation of the leading 3D technologies and vendors. The choice of TeraRecon was based upon its superior workflow solutions and powerful enterprise 3D products which we concluded were ideally suited for teleradiology," according to Bill Shea M.D., Vice President of 3D Imaging Services at NightHawk Radiology Services. "NightHawk's partnership with TeraRecon continues our commitment to our radiology group customers to help improve patient care by providing superior 3D post processing and access to image interpretations around the clock. NightHawk now offers high quality, efficient, user-friendly 3D reconstructions and Coronary CTA interpretations."

NightHawk's 3D initiative is powered by dual redundant AquariusNET Servers and an Aquarius Advanced Pre-processing Server (APS). A team of expert 3D technicians work on Aquarius Workstations at the company's dedicated 3D lab in Austin, TX. After processing, the image data and 3D work product are sent to NightHawk's customers who are not only able to view the results, but can also further manipulate the images volumetrically using TeraRecon's AquariusNET Server and a portable, archival saved-state capability called a Scene.

"NightHawk Radiology Services is once again leading the field in its selection of advanced technology to offer efficiency and patient care improvements to its radiology group partners and hospitals. The broad reach of NightHawk's established client network and the client-server capabilities of TeraRecon's Aquarius solutions are a natural fit, and we are excited to partner with the global leader in radiology solutions in this new 3D initiative. NightHawk will be able to cost-effectively introduce over one thousand facilities to advanced CTA and cardiac CT procedures performed and delivered using TeraRecon's 3D solutions, and we are confident this will represent a great benefit and opportunity to NightHawk, TeraRecon and the imaging facilities who embrace the opportunity this represents," stated Robert Taylor, COO and Executive VP of TeraRecon.
