Nightingale Informatix Corporation (TSX VENTURE:NGH) today announced the signing of its first U.S. Electronic Medical Record (EMR) customer, the Seale Harris Clinic, P.C., in Birmingham, Alabama. The contract, valued at US$220,000, will allow the clinic to capture medical information using existing HealtheNet transcription services and have that information directly ported into Nightingale's EMR application.

Nightingale announced the acquisition of HealtheNet in November 2005 (http://www.nightingale.md/press_releases/PR11142005.asp) and the contract with Seale Harris is a direct result of the HealtheNet acquisition. This agreement will provide Nightingale's EMR application, services and support to Seale Harris's two locations with eight physicians and over 10,000 patients. Founded in 1920, Seale Harris is the oldest clinic in Birmingham servicing an average of 90 patients per day.

"We have been a HealtheNet customer since 2002," stated Dr. Jay Crenshaw. "When we saw how cohesively the Nightingale solution integrated with the transcription, dictation and document management services that we use through HealtheNet, we were extremely impressed with the fit and saw an immediate benefit to our patients and our clinic."

"Nightingale's use of templates to capture patient information is unique. Its innovative approach allows physicians to easily adopt a leading edge EMR without being burdened by technology challenges," Dr. Crenshaw continued. "I can see my dictated clinical notes in a structured patient record without having to input the data. This will revolutionize how physicians and healthcare organizations view the adoption of EMR. We expect to see significant operational efficiency in our clinic, as a result of this initiative."

Nightingale and HealtheNet are both ASP applications, allowing physicians to securely access patient information from any Internet connection, anytime, anywhere.

"The purchase of HealtheNet was a very strategic decision and one we knew would be a perfect complement to the Nightingale suite of products," said John Bodolai, VP Sales and Marketing for Nightingale. "The agreement with Seale Harris validates the acquisition and is a significant milestone for Nightingale and our customers. It demonstrates how we can enhance traditional transcription services by capturing information in an EMR application. This allows physicians to maintain better information on their patients, thereby providing improved care."

Nightingale and HealtheNet are in discussions with a number of healthcare organizations in the U.S. market who are candidates for this combined service.
