Nihon Kohden America Previews New Robust, Lightweight Transport Monitor

Quality of Care Advanced With Compact, Portable Monitor Designed for Basic and High Acuity Transport

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - May 20, 2013) - National Teaching Institute & Critical Care Exposition (NTI), Booth #2553 -- Today at NTI, Nihon Kohden America announced the expansion of its family of Enterprise Monitoring Solutions with a new transport monitor. Featuring a 5.5 inch color, touch-screen display and weighing only 3.5 lbs., the new transport monitor is capable of displaying and storing the following: ECG, respiration, pulse oximetry, dual temperature, non-invasive blood pressure and three additional parameters. In addition, it processes and stores arrhythmias, full disclosure, ST templates, 12-lead ECGs and tabular and graphic trends. This week, Nihon Kohden America will preview the new transport monitor, which can also be used as a stand-alone monitor that connects to Nihon Kohden's Enterprise Monitoring system.

Noted as a pioneer in transforming healthcare with innovative products and business practices, Nihon Kohden is steadfast in its commitment to improve quality of care, and use technology as the enabler of change.

"Our new lightweight, durable monitor redefines transport monitoring," said Mike Dashefsky, vice president, Nihon Kohden America. "By providing visibility into nine critical parameters and seven waveforms, it makes basic and high acuity transport possible. There are no other transport monitors available that can offer this level of portability coupled with the same level of features found in high acuity monitors."

Designed to address both basic and high acuity transport, the new monitor from Nihon Kohden America is imperative for transport situations in which maintaining a high standard of monitoring care is a must. The new monitor remotely displays up to nine parameters, making it the industry's most comprehensive transport monitor. Furthermore, once the transport is complete, all data can be transferred to the patient's bedside.

The new transport monitor has a user replaceable battery with over five hours of battery life and connects to TR-6000 or 9000 Series Bedside Monitoring systems. Embedded memory makes it possible for the most pertinent information including arrhythmia recall, graphic and tabular trends and full disclosure review to stay with the patient during transport, and can then be uploaded when the patient arrives at his/her final destination. All information obtained can be seamlessly integrated into clinical information systems, leaving no gaps throughout the patient's stay.
