Nimsoft Offers Easy Migration for Former Silverback Customers as Dell Moves to Hosted-Only Model

Customers Select NMS for Comprehensive Monitoring Capabilities

REDWOOD CITY, CA--(Marketwire - August 25, 2009) - Nimsoft Inc., the "Big 4" alternative for IT performance and availability monitoring solutions, is noticing a shift in the marketplace as Dell limits support for the former Silverback monitoring appliance. Dell is effectively forcing many Managed Service Provider (MSP) partners to leave the Silverback platform as it is moved into Dell's datacenter as part of its own managed service offering. As a result, former Silverback customers are evaluating the Nimsoft Monitoring Solution (NMS) as a replacement for Silverback. To support this market shift, Nimsoft is offering special migration terms to former Silverback customers to enable a smooth, cost-effective migration to Nimsoft.

Recently Dell announced a 2010 end of life on the Silverback monitoring appliance while not offering a clear migration path for mature MSPs. Like many of Silverback's MSP customers, we couldn't migrate to the new Dell datacenter offering without reducing the level of service to our clients. We were forced to leave the Silverback platform."
