NineSigma Appoints Rick Wielens to Lead NineSigma Europe and Expand Company's Open Innovation Services Throughout Region

Seasoned Strategist and Innovation Entrepreneur Selected to Direct NineSigma's Operations in Europe

CLEVELAND, OH--(Marketwire - November 16, 2010) - NineSigma, the leading provider of open innovation solutions, announced they have appointed Rick Wielens as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Europe. Rick will lead the sales and delivery teams for the region and will work closely with clients to help them build open innovation capacity to increase access to new capabilities, knowledge and solutions. 

Rick brings to his position an extensive background in innovation, business strategy, supply chain management, and organizational change and ICT implementations. In the three years prior to joining NineSigma, Rick built an Open Innovation expert-sourcing company, HIP, that leveraged talent from high-level, retired professionals to address a broad range of innovation needs. Before launching HIP, Rick was IT Manager for Lighting Electronics, a business unit within Philips Lighting where he was instrumental in driving the integration of the company's IT and business strategies. Previously Rick was a business development executive at SAP where he managed the consulting business for SAP systems integration in the BeNeLux region of Europe.

Rick holds a Master's of Science in Transport Planning and Management from Westminster University in London and a Bachelors degree in Traffic Engineering from the University of Applied Science in Tilburg.
