NIRI Orange County to Host Two November Events

D&O Liability Protection - November 3rd & Professional Development Meets Social Media - November 17th

ORANGE COUNTY, CA--(Marketwire - Oct 31, 2011) - The Orange County Chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI OC) announced today that there is still limited seating to hear Priya Cherian Huskins of Woodruff Sawyer present on the subject of Directors and Officers liability protection on November 3, 2011. On November 17 Don De Laria of Loyal3 will cover Social Media and its impact on Investor Relations.

Directors and Officers liability protection is a complex topic. At this breakfast meeting, Ms. Huskins will provide information on D&O insurance coverage and answer your questions in reference to different scenarios and what is best for your company.

Ms. Huskins was named one of the "Top 100 Women of Influence in the Silicon Valley" in 2009 by the San Jose/Silicon Valley Business Journal; Ms. Huskins is a recognized expert in D&O liability risk and its mitigation. In addition to consulting on D&O insurance, she counsels clients on corporate governance matters, including ways to reduce their exposure to shareholder lawsuits and regulatory investigations. Ms. Huskins is a frequent speaker nationally and internationally on D&O issues, is a regular guest lecturer for Stanford Law School's Corporate Governance Colloquium, and has taught at Stanford's Annual Directors' College, among others.

Don De Laria is a 15+ year investor relations veteran currently serving as Managing Director of Loyal3, a web and social media platform that enables public companies to sell their stock directly to customers in a way that is easy and affordable. Don began his career in Minneapolis at Dain Bosworth, including roles as investment banking analyst, director of equity syndicate and VP of Institutional Equity Sales before founding his own investor relations firm, Deephaven Financial Group. In 2002, Don joined Regal Entertainment Group as VP Investor Relations where he led their investor relations program from its IPO until the spring of 2011, including two major recapitalizations, a spin-out and numerous acquisitions. Don has served in various capacities on the boards of the Twin Cities NIRI Chapter, the Virtual NIRI Chapter and the NIRI National Board. Don has been an advocate of the intelligent application of social media concepts in investor relations, having spoken on the subject at both an IR Magazine think-tank event in New York and at a Chicago NIRI Chapter event.
