No Need for the Spell Check Function Here! Over 400 Students Compete in Regional Spelling Bee Competition

Malvern Town Centre Hosts GTA Schools' Future Spelling Stars

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 27, 2009) - While most of us rely on the spelling auto correct feature for proper spelling, students from Scarborough schools are showing they don't need an electronic crutch to rely on. Starting on Friday, March 27th, over 400 spellers will compete in front of their friends, family and community at Malvern Town Centre during the Malvern Town Centre/Toronto District School Board's NE4 family of schools regional spelling bee competitions. For over 20 years, Spelling Bee of Canada has been challenging youth to excel at spelling, encouraging selfconfidence and creating pride in academic achievement. The competitions are guaranteed to be exciting and unpredictable as spelling superstars attempt challenging words. First place finishers in all categories will be awarded $500, second place $300 and third place $150. The prize money is awarded courtesy of Malvern Town Centre.
